Imagine if you can transfer your energy from one place to another just like how you transfer your data using hotspot or Wifi, sounds cool, doesn’t it ? Well, actually it’s possible in nature but not in a way its sound.
Probably you already know because of this article title and your search query both are on this only, this phenomenon is known as Electromagnetic Induction.
Well before, getting straight into this topic first, let’s understand what you are going to get in this article. We will be giving you all the important topics needed from this chapter Electromagnetic Induction and will explain the basics of it.
On top of that, you will be also getting handwritten notes of this chapter and let me tell you they are very in-depth notes with all the details and things you will need for your exam preparation whether it’s class 12 boards or competitive exams.

What is electromagnetic induction ?
When there is a change in the magnetic field an electromotive force is induced across a conductor this phenomenon is called electromagnetic induction.
If a conductor is in a closed circuit then you will see a flow of current inside a conductor due to induced EMF, but one question to ask here is, when and for how long will emf get induced across a conductor?
So the answer is simple, whenever there will be a change in the magnetic field an EMF will be induced, but for how long?
So answer to this is, EMF will only get induced when the magnetic field is changing and as soon as the magnetic field is stable and there is no change in it, then there will be no induced EMF.
Change in the magnetic field can be denoted with the help of change in Magnetic flux. So first let’s understand a basic about what is magnetic flux ?
Magnetic flux and electric flux are kinda the same, they both have the same concept but the only difference is one case we are dealing with Electric field whereas on the other one we are dealing with magnetic field.
So magnetic flux linked with an area ‘A’ : ɸB = B.A where magnetic flux is denoted by “ɸB“.
The unit of Magnetic flux is weber.
Important topics from electromagnetic induction for boards are Induced EMF, Faraday’s law, Motional EMF and Inductance.
For 1 marker and MCQ for class 12 boards, conceptual questions from these topics as well as Lenz law can be asked.
All these topics are provided in the notes given below, they are highly in-depth class 12 physics notes of Electromagnetic Induction so refer to them, it’s more than enough for boards.
This article is a brief summary of chapter 6, Electromagnetic Induction for all the derivation related to this chapter and other important things. I have prepared my special handwritten notes. These notes have all the derivation of this chapter and important topics for your board exam 🙂
So do read these notes if you are a class 12th student and preparing for your board exam. These notes are easy to understand. To download them CLICK HERE.
